Rotork has been working with BAE Systems to upgrade a collection of A-range actuators to IQ3 actuators which operate penstocks controlling movement of ships between the ocean and transitional locks and dry docks at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth (HMNB Portsmouth).
เกจ์วัดแก๊สหุงต้ม of A-range actuators had reached the end of their operational life after lengthy service in a challenging surroundings. BAE Systems wished to retain all the benefits of electrical actuators, so IQ3 actuators have been chosen. These had to be specifically adapted by Rotork to overcome issues round confined spaces and troublesome entry.
IQ3 actuators and IS gearboxes have been mechanically adapted in order that both actuator and gearbox could be manually operated without getting into the confined house. Rotork designed particular hand auto levers and thru drive mechanisms for the actuator and gearbox to eliminate the need for confined house entry.
Actuators throughout the IQ range are watertight, offering ingress safety to IP66/68 at 20 m for 10 days. They have a sophisticated dual stacked show with configurable knowledge logger functionality, and an absolute position sensor provides reliability and accuracy.
