Rotork has been working with BAE Systems to improve a collection of A-range actuators to IQ3 actuators which function penstocks controlling movement of ships between the ocean and transitional locks and dry docks at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth (HMNB Portsmouth).
A collection of A-range actuators had reached the tip of their operational life after long service in a difficult environment. BAE Systems wished to retain all the advantages of electric actuators, so IQ3 actuators had been chosen. เพรสเชอร์เกจ needed to be specifically adapted by Rotork to beat issues round confined spaces and tough access.
IQ3 actuators and IS gearboxes had been mechanically tailored so that both actuator and gearbox could probably be manually operated without entering the confined house. Rotork designed special hand auto levers and thru drive mechanisms for the actuator and gearbox to eliminate the need for confined house entry.
Actuators inside the IQ range are watertight, providing ingress safety to IP66/68 at 20 m for 10 days. They have a complicated dual stacked display with configurable data logger performance, and an absolute position sensor provides reliability and accuracy.
